TERMS:
1. The Pet Owner is responsible for providing the
necessary safe equipment/supplies needed for the care of the
pet(s) including but not limited to: well fit harnesses (leashes,
collars, etc) for walks, or in case of emergency, firmly affixed
vaccination tags, a lead rope or leash, pooper scoopers, litter
boxes, food, cleaning supplies, medicine, pet food and cat
litter. You authorize any purchase necessary for the
satisfactory performance of duties. You agree to be
responsible for the payment of such items, as well as service
fees for obtaining them, and will reimburse me or the pet sitter
within five (5) days from date of purchase.
2. You will be responsible for all medical expenses and
damages resulting from an injury to a pet sitter or other
persons by the pet. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless
and defend me or the pet sitter in the event of an action or
claim by any person for injury or damage alleged to be caused
by the pet or the pet sitter.
3. You shall be responsible for pet-proofing and the
security of your home, yard, fences, gates and latches. The pet
shall not have unsupervised access to the outdoors.
4. You authorize me or the pet sitter to seek any
emergency or veterinary assistance for your pet, at your costs,
from a veterinarian chosen by me or the pet sitter. You
acknowledge that neither I nor the pet sitter is responsible for
the health/well being of your pet.
5. You understand that I or the pet sitter will attempt to
contact you prior in regard to any medical problems. You
understand that efforts will be made to contact you regarding
any treatments, illnesses, injury or potential problems as soon
as the condition is deemed not life threatening and/or contact
is possible. You understand that I and the pet sitter(s) will
exercise a good faith effort to prevent accidents and injuries,
and that such problems may occur no matter how well a pet is
cared for. You agree to allow me or the pet sitter to use our
best judgment in handling these situations, and you
understand that I and the pet sitter assume no responsibility
for the actions and decisions of the veterinary staff, the health,
or death of your pet(s).
6. Every dog, cat and other pet at the site of service will be
current (per your veterinarian’s recommendations) on its
rabies vaccinations prior to the arrival of any caregiver. You
also agree to make arrangements to guarantee that each
animal will remain current on its rabies vaccination(s)
throughout each period of service.
7. You agree to notify me or the pet sitter of any sign of
injury or possible illness before any visit as soon as the
condition appears. I reserve the right to cancel services at any
location where a pet with a potentially infectious condition
exists. I strive to provide clean, safe service to each of my
clients, and in doing so, I strongly recommend that each pet be
vaccinated and de-wormed, and protected from harmful insects
according to veterinarian recommended standards.
8. The pet sitter is not responsible for damage to the home
beyond my control or the pet sitters. This includes, but is not
limited to leaks, electrical problems, and acts of nature. In
these situations, the pet sitter will attempt to contact you and
then the emergency contact(s) before making a subjective
decision on dealing with the problem. All repairs and related
fees (including Special Service/emergency service time and
coordination fees) will be paid by the client.
9. The pet sitter is not responsible for any damage to the
property of the Client or others unless such damage is caused
by the negligence of the pet sitter. Your pet sitter accepts no
responsibility for the security of the premises or loss if other
individuals have access to your home, or the home is not
properly secured.
10. Your pet sitter is not liable for any loss or damage in the
event of a burglary or other crime that might occur while under
this contract. You agree to secure the home prior to leaving
the premises. Your pet sitter will re-secure the home to the
best of their ability at the end of each visit. While keys are in
the possession of the pet sitter, they will be either on the pet
sitter’s physical person, or be properly stored at an
undisclosed location.
11. The owner must have the legal rights to place the
animals in the care of the pet sitter, kennels, or veterinary
clinics. The pet sitter cannot service a home with “visiting”
pets or animals that do not belong to the resident of the
service site without separate sets of Agreement forms,
including a Home and Pet Service Agreement, accepted and
signed by each rightful owner.
12. The terms of this document apply to all the pets owned
by you, including any and all new pets that you obtain on or
after the date this document was signed, at any and all
locations that you designate for service.
13. The pet sitter is not responsible for the safety of any
pets and will not be liable for the injury, disappearance, death
or fines for any pet with unsupervised access to the outdoors.
14. The pet sitter is not responsible for wilted, dead, or
otherwise unhealthy plants. I or my agent will work hard to
follow your written directions as precisely as possible, but
cannot be responsible if the results are not favorable. You
agree to provide the pet sitter with a written list of all plant
locations and directions for care of each.
15. It is suggested that arrangements be made with
someone for the evacuation of your pets in case of a disaster
or weather related crisis/event/”Code Red”. Your pet sitter will
definitely try to see to your pet’s safety should such events
occur, but will not guarantee it.
16. I reserve the right to terminate this Contract at any time
if I determine, in my sole discretion, that my safety and/or
health and/or the health of my agents, other pets, or other
people are threatened by your pet(s). If concerns prohibit the
pet
Sitter from caring for your pet, you authorize the pet to be
placed in a kennel (or previously arranged locale) with all
charges (including but not limited to transportation, kenneling,
tranquilizing, treating, accessing and liability) to be your
responsibility.
17. I or my agent(s) agree to provide the Services stated in
this Agreement in a reliable, caring and trustworthy manner. In
consideration of the Services as an express condition thereof,
you expressly waive and relinquish any and all claims against
me or my agent(s) except those arising from my negligence or
willful misconduct. Claims of misconduct or negligence or the
Independent contractor hired by me will be the responsibility of
the independent contractor and the company they represent.
18. You agree to notify me of any concerns within 24 hours
of your return.
